This week's fixes: XP, exams, translations, and more
A wide fix pass across the app this week. AI explanations cache correctly now, loading faster and no longer paying twice for an answer you already saw. XP and streaks are calculated fairly in every scenario, and mock exams now follow your country's real time limit instead of a fixed 40 minutes. The exam and flashcards screens are fully translated in Portuguese and Bulgarian, you'll stay signed in for the full 30 days instead of a weekly logout, error screens offer a retry button instead of a dead end, and several accessibility improvements landed for keyboard and screen reader users. Data export and account deletion are back in your profile.

Today's toughest question, right on Home
A new card on Home surfaces the question learners in your country and category struggled with most this week, with a short AI pep talk and a 5-question drill to fix it fast. Behind the scenes, the app now waits for the database to be ready before saying it's healthy, and shuts down cleanly during updates instead of dropping requests mid-flight.
- Fix
Fixed "rate limit exceeded" on the signs page and elsewhere
Browsing the road-sign encyclopedia loaded ~218 small images at once and could trip the rate limiter, locking the next API call too. Static images, medals, avatars, and videos no longer count against the API budget, and each user now has their own bucket instead of sharing one.
- New
Each country has its own progression now
Switching country no longer carries your XP, level, streak, league, medals, and missions across. Each country tracks its own learning journey, so a Bulgarian B-cat run and a Portuguese B-cat run start fresh and stay separate. The current scope shows in a small badge on the side rail, and the country picker now confirms before switching.
- New
Bookmarks and per-question notes
Tap the bookmark icon on any question to pin it for later. Open "Practice my bookmarks" from your profile to drill on just the saved set with no cooldowns. The feedback card also has a private note pad now (only you can see it).
- New
Country leaderboards
A new "My country" toggle on the leaderboard shows only learners from the country you set on your profile. Works for both XP and Speed boards.
- New
See how everyone else did on this question
Every wrong answer now shows what % of learners get this question right. A 30%-correct question you missed is normal; a 90%-correct question you missed is a real gap to revisit.
- New
Choose your AI tone: standard, simpler, or technical
Three buttons under each AI explanation let you ask for the same answer in plainer language ("imagine you are 12") or in more technical, regulation-language form. Your choice persists per browser.
- New
My answer history
A new "My answers" page in your profile lists every question you ever attempted, with filters for correct / wrong, and a deep-link back to each question.
- New
Cmd+K to jump anywhere
Press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) from anywhere in the app to open a quick-jump palette. Type a few letters and hit Enter to navigate.
- New
Real exam questions on every sign page
Each sign in the encyclopedia now lists 5 real exam questions that mention it, so you can see the sign in the same context where it appears on the test.
- New
Download or delete your data
Two new buttons in your profile: "Download my data" gives you a JSON file with everything DrivXP knows about you, and "Delete my account" lets you self-service close your account (typed-email confirm required).
- Security
Cookie consent + analytics opt-out
A small banner appears on your first visit asking whether to allow our single first-party analytics cookie. No data is sent until you choose. No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels.
- New
Portuguese is now a full first-class language
Every public page now has a /pt/ mirror with translated slugs (/pt/categoria, /pt/temas, /pt/exame-modelo). The AI explanations and exam coach now phrase themselves around the Portuguese IMT exam, not the Bulgarian KAT exam, when your account is set to PT.
- Security
Security audit batch shipped
Closed nine findings from a routine audit: stronger HTML escaping in AI text, tighter validation on profile edits, per-IP limits on AI endpoints, and a stricter CORS policy. Nothing was exploited; we run audits before things go wrong.
- New
Country picker on signup
New accounts pick the country whose driving theory exam they're studying for. Defaults to one matching your browser language; you can change it later in your profile.
- New
Speed leaderboard
A second leaderboard tab ranks the fastest correct answers this week. Minimum ten correct attempts to qualify, so a single lucky-fast guess can't dominate.
- New
Sub-topic drill-in from the heatmap
Tap any topic on your Profile heatmap to see the sub-topics inside it (420 in total across 56 topics) and your accuracy on each. Practice mode now also accepts sub-topic filters.
- New
AI explanations now see the diagram
When a question has an image, the AI now looks at the image directly instead of guessing from the text. Goodbye, "without seeing the exact diagram..." hedges.
- New
Personalized weakness summary
Once you have at least 30 attempts in your category, the Stats page shows a short AI-written paragraph of your strongest and weakest topics, refreshed weekly.
- New
Exam-day refresher tile
When your exam date is within seven days and you still have open mistakes, a tile on Home walks you straight into Review Mistakes mode.
- New
Question search
New /search page with full-text search across the entire question bank. Results reveal the correct answer inline (search is a lookup tool, not an attempt).
- New
Confidence chips that actually count
After answering, you can mark "knew it", "lucky guess", or "show me again later". The choice now drives a real interval override and the streak counter ignores lucky guesses.
- Content
Glossary, exam-day guide, and pillar guide
Three new long-form public pages: a 32-term glossary at /glossary, a step-by-step /exam-day-guide, and a ~1,800-word /guide/pass-driving-theory.
- New
Desktop layout
On screens 1024px and wider, the bottom tab bar disappears and a fixed left side rail takes over. Each page picks its own desktop max-width and column layout.
